Day 71- Tuesday, March 20th, 2012
Good lord! Today seemed like an extremely long day! Not only did I get 7 and a half hours today but within the first half hour I sprained my ankle but just kept going. By lunch I was limping pretty bad and now back home my leg is throbbing and I can't barely put pressure on it. Pretty lame right?! Anyways I have quite a nice amount of notes for this day. I will now type them out for you all… A goat followed me today in service. We have apparently graduated from having a cat follow us to now having a little goat. Definitely mixed up feelings about graduating for cat to goat…I made a kick-butt salsa today! Even though cilantro looks weird here, it still is cilantro so we are all good. All in all the salsa was amazing! … Its pouring down bucket of rain today, which is nice. :) I am going to try to get to sleep early tonight so I can fall asleep to the rain falling down. :) … My shoes have stretched out SO much since I came here that I actually walk out of them in service. Normally this wouldn't be a problem. But thats normally! Today just on my way to the Kingdom Hall I walked out of my shoe 4 times as we walked down the 4 hills to town. The 3rd walk out, my foot went sideways and I stepped down on it. Ouch! It hurt a little but I kept walking after all we had just started the walk down. The 4th time my feet not only went on its side, and I not only stepped down on it. But I felt something and heard somewhat make a weird pop and crack sound. THEN it really hurt. But like I said before we had just started the day off. This happened in the morning at around 8 and now at 9 it is still smartin something fierce. The service meeting is now at 8:30, we made it about 5 minutes before the meeting started, mainly because we had to stop a few times. One of the girls almost fell so we stopped for that also. We did some invitation work today for the memorial (The 5th of April) Its surprisingly fast and simple. We covered a huge part of our congregation's territory. From Campo Alegre #1 to Monte Lirio to our house. A HUGE part! Trust me! I heard on the news tonight that there was an earthquake in Mexico today. 7.9 on the Richter Scale. Scary. i hope everyone is ok. Today I saw the worst mistreatment of an animal today in service. We went to this one house where there was a dog. It was a cutie so I was like Aww puppy come here. It turned to me and thats when I saw it. Half of his face, from his snout to his eye was seriously just gone. The whole skin and fur was missing. All he had was gums, teeth, and muscle showing. It was sad. But it took me off guard I almost couldn't tell the man, that wad there about the memorial. Rubi saw it too and went all white, we walked away and she said "Did you see that?!" I said yes and we walked in silence feeling sorry for the dog. It was a clear cut, meaning intentionally done. Poor Dog. :( I felt really bad and had a hard time concentrating for the rest of the day. I suppose you could say today was not the best day for me. From ankle sprain and swell, to goat stalker, to earthquake in Mexico, to poor little puppy. I don't want to think anymore tonight. I am going to bed. Goodnight Day 71.
